The 2023 Super League fixtures were confirmed today along with details on TV coverage for the season.
Super League confirmed that 76 live games would be shown on TV including 10 fixtures live on Channel 4.
On the whole, except for Rivals Round and Magic Weekend in which all six games that round are shown on Sky Sports, every round has an average of two live TV games.
So, with the TV games only confirmed until Round 15, we thought we would have a stab at predicting the TV games in Rounds 16 through to 27:
Round Sixteen
Castleford Tigers vs Warrington Wolves
Hull KR vs Wakefield Trinity
This round sees Daryl Powell return again to the Jungle as two of the bookies’ three favourites for the drop also do battle.
Round Seventeen
Warrington Wolves vs Leeds Rhinos
Wigan Warriors vs Huddersfield Giants
Warrington-Leeds is always a big game but it may play second fiddle to Wigan-Huddersfield as two of last year’s top three,
Round Eighteen
Hull KR vs Hull FC
Salford Red Devils vs Leeds Rhinos
The Hull derby is an obvious pick whilst a battle between two teams expected to kick on after strong ends to 2022 will also be a great watch.
Round Nineteen
Wigan Warriors vs Warrington Wolves
Hull FC vs Castleford Tigers
A repeat of the 2013, 2016 and 2018 Grand Finals is almost always guaranteed to be on TV whilst another return to the MKM Stadium for Lee Radford will also be a great watch.
Round Twenty
St Helens vs Leeds Rhinos
Wigan Warriors vs Leigh Leopards
A repeat of last year’s Grand Final will almost certainly attract viewers as will a derby between Wigan Warriors and the star-studded Leigh Leopards.
Round Twenty-One
Salford Red Devils vs St Helens
Warrington Wolves vs Catalans Dragons
A semi-final rematch catches the eye in Round 21 whilst Warrington vs Catalans will see Gil Dudson and Sam Kasino face their former club in a battle between play-off hopefuls.
Round Twenty-Two
Leeds Rhinos vs Warrington Wolves
Huddersfield Giants vs Salford Red Devils
As aforementioned, Leeds-Warrington is always a big game as is Huddersfield vs Salford after both made the play-offs last season and after both have enjoyed the impact of Ian Watson.
Round Twenty-Three
Huddersfield Giants vs Leeds Rhinos
Catalans Dragons vs Wigan Warriors
A west Yorkshire derby between two clubs you’d expect to be knocking on the door to success in 2023 whilst Wigan’s visit to Catalans will be a big occasion.
Round Twenty-Four
Hull FC vs Leeds Rhinos
Warrington Wolves vs Castleford Tigers
A family feud in Round 24 as Tony Smith’s Hull FC hosts Rohan Smith’s Leeds Rhinos whilst another two play-off hopefuls meet at the Halliwell Jones.
Round Twenty-Five
Leeds Rhinos vs Wigan Warriors
Wakefield Trinity vs Catalans Dragons
A meeting between the inaugural Grand Finalists is a big game between two of the biggest clubs in rugby league. Meanwhile, Wakefield and Catalans served up a classic affair in 2022 and could do so again in 2023.
Round Twenty-Six
Warrington Wolves vs St Helens
Catalans Dragons vs Leeds Rhinos
Two top teams will battle it out in what will always be a classic game as Warrington meet St Helens. Catalans and Leeds will also meet in what is always a big occasion in France.
Round Twenty-Seven
Leeds Rhinos vs Castleford Tigers
Huddersfield Giants vs Warrington Wolves
The season ends with a West Yorkshire derby that could have a big impact on the play-off race as could Huddersfield Giants vs Warrington Wolves.
