Ottawa sign Scottish international

Ottawa Aces have confirmed the signing of Scottish international Sam Luckley ahead of the 2021 season.

The 24-year-old has spent all of his senior career at Newcastle Thunder since debuting in 2016, after having previous spells at Huddersfield and Hull KR at youth level.

He made over 80 appearances for Thunder and has earned four caps for Scotland in the past two years.

Head Coach Laurent Frayssinous said: “Sam has been a real standout regarding his performances with his previous club for the last few years now.

“He is a hard worker, eager to learn, eager to improve and he’s got all the abilities to become one of the best front rows at the highest level in the future.”
