NRL Magic Weekend returns as part of eleven rugby league games live on TV this week

With the international fixture out of the way there’s a huge return of domestic rugby league this week.

Among that incredible set of fixtures are some brilliant TV games as well, both in the northern and southern hemisphere, and here’s a comprehensive list of those televised games.

Not only do Super League and the Championship return in England, the NRL is set for their Magic Weekend meaning there’s plenty to watch.

Thursday 4th May
Hull FC vs Wigan Warriors:
8:00pm on Sky Sports Arena

The hosts in this game potentially won’t have wanted the mid-season break given their impressive win over Huddersfield, however it will have given them a chance to freshen up their squad. Unfortunately though Wigan will have had the same and the team that top the table will head to the MKM as heavy favourites.

Friday 5th May
Canterbury Bulldogs vs Canberra Raiders: 8:00am on Sky Sports Main Event/Arena
Manly Sea Eagles vs Brisbane Broncos: 11:05am on Sky Sports Main Event/Arena
Catalans Dragons vs St Helens: 7:45pm on Sky Sports Arena

Friday kicks off the NRL Magic Weekend and sees in-form Canberra looking to make it four wins on the spin against Josh Reynolds’ Bulldogs. Brisbane then face Manly and will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to the Rabbitohs.

The evening action sees Saints travel to France to face the Dragons, plenty of whom featured in the French defeat to England on Saturday. Catalans have lost three on the spin and four of their last five, so it’s potentially a chance for Saints to kick on following their impressive win over Warrington.

Saturday 6th May
NZ Warriors vs Penrith Panthers:
6:00am on Sky Sports Main Event/Arena
Cronulla Sharks vs The Dolphins: 8:30am on Sky Sports Arena
Melbourne Storm vs South Sydney Rabbitohs: 10:45am on Sky Sports Arena

The weekend kicks off with a Saturday morning treble including Penrith who look to bounce back from the biggest shock defeat of the season. New boys The Dolphins then face Cronulla before the Rabbitohs face off with Melbourne in a battle of 3rd vs 4th.

Sunday 7th May
Wests Tigers vs St George Illawarra Dragons:
4:50am on Sky Sports Main Event/Arena
Sydney Roosters vs North Queensland Cowboys: 7:05am on Sky Sports Main Event/Arena
Gold Coast Titans vs Parramatta Eels: 9:25am on Sky Sports Main Event/Arena

The weekend is rounded off by plenty of Englishmen in action down under starting with John Bateman’s Tigers in the early slot. They ended over 270 days without a win last week, can they make it two in one week against St George? Victor Radley will then star for the Roosters against the Cowboys before a battle of the English hookers. Kruise Leeming could face off against Josh Hodgson as Gold Coast take on Parramatta in the finale of the NRL’s Magic Weekend.

Monday 8th May
Batley Bulldogs vs Widnes Vikings: 7:45pm on Viaplay Sports One

It’s not just Super League that returns this week but also the Championship and the televised fixture this week sees two playoff contenders face off. Both Batley and Widnes have won their last two fixtures and they both have won three of their last five in the league. John Kear’s side travel to the Millennium Stadium in what should be a brilliant clash.
