Former Gold Coast play maker Ash Taylor could yet make a move to Super League after struggling to make an impact for the New Zealand Warriors.
The 26-year-old Queenslander was initially signed on a train and trial deal in October with a club top 30 option for 2022, but signed a full deal.
At the time, Warriors general manager football Craig Hodges said: “We’re excited to confirm Ash is staying with us. He has been a great addition since joining the club and has more than met our expectations.
“He has added so much with his training ethic, enthusiasm and his all-round contribution.”
The Vodafone Warriors are his third NRL club after making one appearance for Brisbane in 2015 and 114 for Gold Coast from 2016-2021.
“Ash has fitted in well with our group and we we’re really enjoying having him around,” said Vodafone Warriors captain Tohu Harris.
“He has given us an experienced voice and has added to the competition in our halves.”
Taylor ended his Gold Coast career with 16 appearances in 2021 as the club made the finals for just the fourth time and the first since 2016.
He had been linked with a move to Super League at the end of the 2021 season, but that obviously came to nothing, but Fox Sports has since revealed that Taylor may have to move away from the NRL to rejuvenate his career, sparking claims of a Super League move.
