“Naff” – Jon Wilkin brands two Super League sides as “rubbish”

Both Hull FC and Leigh Leopards have had a rough start to the Betfred Super League season.

Now, in Super League Round Five, the two clubs collide hoping to get their season up and running.

Speaking on Round Five of the Betfred Super League, Sam Tomkins had his say on the match on Sky Sports: “Leigh should be good enough to beat Hull FC who are struggling with suspensions and injuries. I just think the injury to Lachlan Lam is going to be massive for Leigh. I can’t see him playing. The way that he went off the field, apparently it’s a 10cm cut in the top of his leg, which I’d be amazed if it healed. Hull FC are desperate to win. I think this is a chance.”

Jon Wilkin added: “They’ve both been naff, they’ve both been rubbish at the start of the year. Leigh a bit unlucky right? Some unlucky bits in there but they are yet to win.

Super League side “under pressure” says Tomkins

Also in Round Five of the Betfred Super League, Hull KR travel over to Huddersfield Giants looking to get back on track after back to back defeats.

Ahead of the game in Round Five of Super League, Sam Tomkins had his say on the two sides.

When asked if Hull KR were under pressure, he said: “Yeah, I think so. I think they’ve got a great squad, they’ve got a lot of strike. I think Mikey Lewis has started the season well, Tyrone May has been outstanding for them. But yeah, they need to get back to winning ways and they’re up against a side, Huddersfield Giants, who will be absolutely buzzing with confidence after what they produced last week.”

Meanwhile, Jon Wilkin addressed the ongoing fullback debate at the club: “I think we’re going with Niall Evalds, aren’t we? I think we’re all decided it should be Evalds. He wants to play Peta Hiku there. Play in there and change your mind in a month’s time or two months’ time.

“It doesn’t matter. I’ll go back to Bevan French starting on the wing last year.  But yeah, this should be an interesting game. Huddersfield, look they’ve got some stars.”

In the other game this week, London Broncos and Warrington Wolves collide. London last week put in a valiant performance against Super League and World Champion Wigan Warriors losing eventually 60-22 to the league’s best team at the present moment. Can they improve against the Warrington Wolves?

The man was a great player but I have little or no time for his comments as a pundit. He needs a job behind the camera.
