McNamara alarmed by second half collpase

Catalans Dragons Head Coach Steve McNamara admitted he was alarmed at his side’s second half collapse against Salford Red Devils.

The Dragons led 18-6 at half-time, but conceded six second half tries to lose 42-24 at the AJ Bell Stadium.

He said: “We were terrible in the second half. I don’t not know where it came from. We just didn’t get going, and they ran us ragged.

“We set the game up for ourselves in the first half. Then to fall off at that level was alarming. It is hugely disappointing and frustrating.

“Not playing for three weeks could be used as an excuse. But there is no excuse for the way we played in the second half.

“We will try and work out why that happened, and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
