Leigh Leopards didn’t even have to appeal ban to get it withdrawn

Leigh Leopards take on Hull KR this week after their defeat to Wigan Warriors which has seen the Leopards lose their home advantage to the Robins.’

Making matters worse that game looked set to cost them Tom Amone after

Their initial challenge to a Grade B charge of dangerous contact was upheld, with the independent Operational Rules Tribunal accepting a plea of not guilty.

Leigh then withdrew their challenge to a second Grade B charge of dangerous contact.

Amone’s punishment for that offence was automatically downgraded from a one-match suspension to a £250 fine because of the dismissal of the previous charge, meaning he is available for Friday’s elimination play-off at Hull KR.

This comes after the disciplinary panel met on Monday.

Wigan will have been nervous over a number of their stars after potential high tackles from a number of their star men.

The same could be said of Warrington Wolves whilst Max Jowitt could have faced a similar offence.

Leigh may have had a few worries with Edwin Ipape after a tackle similar to the infamous John Asiata tackles whilst Tom Amone was placed on report for a crusher tackle.

There could have been bans for yellow card offences from Sam Tomkins, Amir Bourouh, Sam Lisone and Liam Watts.

Following the latest round of Betfred Super League, Women’s Super League, Championship and League One, the Match Review Panel have issued the following sanctions:
