Are Leeds Rhinos still set to sign Wakefield Trinity star?

Lee Kershaw playing for Wakefield Trinity in Super League

More images have emerged of Wakefield Trinity winger Lee Kershaw training at Leeds Rhinos as questions remain about his future.

The winger ironically debuted for Wakefield against the Rhinos in 2019 on Easter Monday and intriguingly the winger is involved at the club as they prepare for a Boxing Day clash against Kershaw’s former club.

The winger was unable to negotiate a deal with Wakefield with the club prioritising Lachlan Walmsley and Jermaine McGillvary.

There has been talk that Leeds could sign him which makes it no surprise that he is training at the club. His future is set to be determined by what happens to Derrell Olpherts with clubs interested in the Leeds winger ahead of 2024.

His future is likely set to be decided at the start of the new year but he could still join the Rhinos for the new season.

It is a new era at the club and they are also hoping to have an impact on their fans.

Leeds Rhinos are looking at ways to improve the experience at AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium for fans who have accessibility requirements.

With the help of Rhinos Supporters’ Board member David Muhl, the club are keen to hear from fans and get feedback about facilities at the stadium. In January the Rhinos will host a meeting for all supporters who have accessible requirements, so the club can better understand what they need to do to ensure they are offering the best possible fan experience.

The main aims of the meeting are to provide an opportunity for fans to meet Leeds and G4S staff and to provide them with an opportunity to provide feedback on how the club can support people when they attend on a match day or when attending an event at the stadium.

The meeting will take place in the AMT Café Bar, which is on the ground floor of the AMT East Stand (situated behind the posts), on Wednesday 17th January 2024 at 6pm.

Exciting times at Leeds for the fans and the players alike as a big year beckons for the club moving forward into the new year.
