Leeds Rhinos Kevin Sinfield explains how friendship inspires his challenges

Leeds Rhinos legend Kevin Sinfield has been doing so much in the fight against Motor Neurone Disease.

He has done three challenges raising awareness and money in the fight against MND.

He ran seven marathons in seven days in 2020, 101 miles on 24 hours in 2021 before recently completing seven ultramarathons on seven days.

It has all been inspired by his former teammate Rob Burrow who has been battling MND since he was diagnosed with the illness in December 2019.

Sinfield, speaking on beloved show The Last Leg hosted by Warrington Wolves PDRL star and Channel 4’s Super League host Adam Hills, revealed that it is friendship that keeps him going.

“I think trying to be a mate, I’ve got a wonderful friend in Rob and then sort of how the MND community has got from it, you get so much energy and support from you’re running, that has driven us on,” he said.

“You’ve seen from the money we’ve raised that the whole team is now making a difference and everyone across the UK for the MND community.

“It is about the MND community, which has been ravaged for some time but now people are aware of what it is and are supporting it in every way they can.”
