Yesterday, Newcastle Thunder forward Sam Hallas called time on his spell with the club.
The Leeds Rhinos academy product left the Thunder to pursue opportunities outside the game which meant he could no longer play fulltime for the Thunder especially whilst still living in Yorkshire.
The decision was not taken lightly and many Newcastle fans have been sorry to see him go.
There are some who believe they will see Hallas back in the Championship very soon with broadcast journalist The Game Caller suggesting that a former Bradford favourite is set to return to Odsal which has led many to believe that Hallas is the man in question and could join the play-off chasing Bulls.
Nonetheless, the focus at this moment is on his departure from Newcastle and he has taken to Twitter to thank the club and reflect on his time there: “I’d just like to publicly thank everyone at Newcastle Thunder. It’s a brilliant club and one that I’ve loved every minute of my time at. The players and coaches are all class and it’s not been an easy decision to make but sometimes in life these things happen. Pleasure was all mine.”
