Konrad Hurrell could have played his last game for Leeds

Konrad Hurrell is set to miss the rest of the 2021 Super League season with a foot injury, which could end his career at Headingley.

The powerful Tongan centre is on a marquee contract with the Rhinos, but that deal runs out at the end of this season, and, with the likes of Blake Austin and Aidan Sezer joining the club, it remains to be seen where Hurrell’s future lies.

Leeds head coach Richard Agar confirmed the bad news.

“It’s a ligament in his foot and he’ll be in a boot for four to six weeks, at least,” Agar said.

“It’s probably fair to say he is going to struggle to play again this year.”

The Rhinos have been doing it tough with injuries in 2021, with the likes of Alex Mellor, Luke Gale, Mikolaj Oledzki and Liam Sutcliffe all ruled out until the end of the season.

And, now Hurrell appears to be the latest casualty.
