Israel Folau gives career update

No one can deny that Israel Folau is one of the greatest rugby players to ever walk the planet.

With an athleticism that rivals are envious of and a skillset that can make almost anyone sit up and take note, Folau is one in a million.

A move to rugby league with the Catalans Dragons during the 2020 Super League season brought that to the UK and France – though his arrival was initially met with disdain due to his outspoken homophobia.

However, Super League seemed to warm to him when he took to the field for the French side and he duly became one of the most eye-catching players to ever take to a rugby league field in the northern hemisphere.

A less than seamless transfer to his native Australia to play for the Southport Tigers in the Gold Coast local leagues to play alongside his two brothers ended that six-month stay in Super League, but he certainly left his mark.

And, now Folau has taken to Instagram to give his followers an update on where he is at, career-wise following the high-profile move.

Folau said: “I’ve been blessed to play professional sport in 3 different codes. But the opportunity to play footy alongside my 2 younger brothers, has been a lifelong dream. One that I never thought I’d be able to fulfill.

“Special thanks to Clive Palmer and The Southport Tigers Organisation for giving me this opportunity. This is definitely one I’ll never forget. #TYJ
