Hull FC’s New Year’s Resolution

The new year is just days away and with it will come a new Super League season just seven weeks into the beginning of the latest chapter of human history.

A new year is a time when everyone looks to make a new start and make a change as they begin a new year.

This is why we get New Year’s Resolutions every year from so many people.

This desire for a new start shouldn’t be restricted to people though and could very well apply to Super League clubs.

So, what should Hull FC’s resolution be going into 2023?

This one will not surprise you. There has been one thing holding Hull FC back in the past few years – poor end of season form.

The Black and Whites were in the top six early in 2021 and 2022 but both years missed out on the play-offs.

Smith has been coaching in Super League for around two decades and knows how to time a run at the end of a season especially seen when he led Leeds Rhinos to the Grand Final in 2007.

He also has an exciting new core in this Hull FC side in the shape of Tex Hoy, Jake Trueman and Jake Clifford who should give the Black and Whites something new in 2023.
