Hull FC v Hull KR: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

It’s quite simply the biggest Hull derby in years. Both teams are well in the mix where the play-offs are concerned, both are enjoying good campaigns and both are desperate for the win to boost their hopes of Old Trafford. The hype generated by Hull KR’s recent showings has generated some interesting back and forth comments in the build-up to the game and the whole rugby league world appear excited for the contest.

Excited they should be especially as Hull FC will be almost back to full strength after a few weeks of difficulties. Not only will they have their first choice halfback combination back in the shape of Josh Reynolds and Marc Sneyd, but talisman Jake Connor is in line to start at fullback if he can tick the necessary boxes before today’s game. Even if he’s not declared fit, Jamie Shaul could make his return from injury at fullback. Meanwhile, Andre Savelio is back in contention leaving Brett Hodgson spoilt for choice in the pack however he’ll have one problem to solve at centre. Thus, he could very well turn to Cameron Scott to fill the role.

Hull FC will make wholesale changes as they welcome back their stars, but Hull KR will most likely keep their side relatively similar. In terms of personnel, the Robins will make just one change with Ethan Ryan sadly ruled out. He’ll be replaced in the side by Mikey Lewis in a round about way as he takes over in the halves allowing Brad Takairangi to move into the backline. Otherwise, I fancy Tony Smith to keep his side the same after they beat Wigan last time out.
