Huddersfield-Hull KR game delayed after four positive tests

Tonight’s game between Huddersfield and Hull KR has been delayed after the Giants returned four positive Covid-19 tests.

Since finding out the results this morning, a thorough investigation has taken place to ensure the John Smith’s Stadium is safe to host this evening’s game.

As a result the match, which was scheduled for 5.30pm, has been pushed back to a 7pm kick-off.

None of the four positive tests came from players involved in Huddersfield’s last fixture against Castleford Tigers.

Two of the players who have tested positive were in rehabilitation after injury, while the other two were for non-players who have not been in contact with the playing group.

One other player is still awaiting test results and will self-isolate, with the four positive tests at the Giants the only ones from a total of 578 carried out this week at the 11 Super League clubs.

Wednesday September 30 Super League schedule:

Leeds Rhinos v Catalans Dragons (6pm); Huddersfield Giants v Hull KR (7pm).

Season ticket holders will be able to access their team’s match via the Our League app.
