France announce classy gesture for Rob Burrow ahead of England clash this Saturday

England take on France this Saturday with the winner likely to top Group A after both teams opening weekend wins.

With a win providing a supposed easier route to the semi-finals, the game is important for both teams and looks set to be an intriguing fixture.

Despite the on field rivalry between the two nations, the French national team have today announced a classy gesture they will be making on their game jerseys

Each player will have “Burrow7” embroidered onto their jerseys as a sign of respect for the former England and Great Britain international.

A classy gesture from France as rivalries are placed to one side to show respect to Rob Burrow who is fighting motor neurone disease.

France captain Benjamin Garcia will also be giving the former Leeds Rhinos star a signed France jersey with “Burrow 7” on the back.

With the game having such a big bearing on the tournament for both nations, France’s gesture shows some things are bigger than rugby league and support for Rob Burrow is one of them.

This is just one example of support for Burrow and anyone who suffers with MND which will be taking place during the course of this World Cup, with Kevin Sinfield also bringing awareness to the disease.

He will be running from Edinburgh to Manchester in seven days, aiming to be at Old Trafford for the World Cup final. He is running to raise money and awareness for motor neurone and of course support his good friend Rob Burrow.
