Former Leeds Rhinos youngster to star for Batley Bulldogs again in 2023

After another strong season in 2022, the important thing for the Batley Bulldogs was keeping as much of the squad together as they could.

The Bulldogs made the semi-finals in 2021 and this year went one step further making the Grand Final to come up short against the newly named Leigh Leopards who back then were of course the Leigh Centurions.

However, since then the Bulldogs have lost star fullback Luke Hooley to Leeds Rhinos whilst Tom Gilmore has returned to the Widnes Vikings for 2023.

Coach Craig Lingard hinted at this eventuality after the Grand Final and also revealed that once again in 2023 it would be difficult for the club to manage their budget with one of the lowest spends in the Championship.

They have been able to recruit Bradford Bulls back and former Salford Red Devils man Elliot Kear who has been captaining Wales throughout the World Cup.

Today, they confirmed that Ben White, who hasn’t missed a game since 2020, would go round again with the Bulldogs.

White has been another star player for the Bulldogs and is a product of the Leeds Rhinos academy making one appearance in Super League for the Rhinos against London Broncos back in 2014.

He’s also had spells at Swinton Lions, Halifax Panthers and Barrow Raiders but has been excellent since joining the Bulldogs and they will likely build their 2023 season around him.
