Former Leeds halfback finds new club

Oldham Roughyeds have signed former Leeds Rhinos academy product Harvey Spence.

Spence joins on an initial two-week loan deal from current club Featherstone Rovers, with the halfback going straight into contention for Oldham’s fixture against high-flying Toulouse on Sunday afternoon.

The club’s chairman Chris Hamilton has explained that Spence comes in as cover for injuries.

“After the injury to James Barran at the weekend we needed to bring in some cover and it is a good opportunity for both ourselves and Harvey,” Hamilton said.

We are looking forward to working with him.”

Oldham are currently second bottom with just two wins from 16 games.
