Favourite to be Super League Top Try Scorer in 2023 revealed

The 2023 season is just under two months away from starting and many will be keen to get back to games but also to make bold predictions for the season with a major one being who will cross over and score the most tries.

Betting odds have been released on this which will give a fairly strong indicator on who are the main men to watch out for and a familiar name tops the betting.

All odds have been taken from Sky Bet and pay each-way for the top four try scorers come the end of the season meaning some longer odds shots could represent value.

To no-ones surprise last season’s dominant force and top scorer, Bevan French, heads the list priced as 10/1 favourite having scored 31 times in just 20 games last year whilst his team-mates Liam Marshall and Jai Field also feature in the top 10, priced at 16/1 and 20/1 respectively.

The leading try scorer of 2021 was Ken Sio with 18 and he followed that up with 26 last year, second only to the incredible French, and as a result of his consistency he’s available at 20/1.

Surprisingly though this means that Ash Handley and Tommy Makinson, both 12/1, and Jon Bennison and Liam Marshall, both 16/1 are believed to outscore the Samoan.

Fouad Yaha has found himself fifth in the try scoring charts in both 2021 and 2022 but with play-maker Josh Drinkwater having left for Warrington and another elite winger in Tom Johnstone, the pair are both priced at 20/1.

Another new signing near the top of the market is Leeds Rhinos new boy Derrell Olpherts, priced at 25/1, who featured in the top 10 last season for Castleford and will hope to improve on his 18 tries.

A full list of players and prices is available on the Sky Bet site but below is a selected few players at various prices.
