Exclusive: No decision will be made on England star’s future despite talks with NRL club this week

This morning the Newcastle Herald revealed that England star Dom Young’s agent would be talking with representative from Newcastle Knights regarding his future at the club.

The winger is entering the last 12 months of his contract and subsequently was one of nearly 200 players who are now available to be approached and agree terms with rival clubs in the NRL.

The former Huddersfield Giants youngster has attracted interest from plenty of clubs with the Daily Telegraph recently reporting that five unnamed Sydney clubs were interested in the young Winger.

Serious About Rugby League understands that three of those Sydney clubs were Manly Sea Eagles, South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Canterbury Bulldogs whilst clubs outside of Sydney in the shape of Melbourne and the Dolphins have also registered an interest in the young man.

The Knights are of course keen on keeping him after he scored 18 tries in the 2022 season.

As his future remains up in the air with so many potential destinations, the Knights are holding talks with his agent on Friday however Serious About Rugby League understands that Young and his agent will not be making any decision on his future this week.

That won’t happen until after the World Cup with the winger not having any particular demands of his current club but instead the strategy is simply to see what the club has to offer as they strive to keep the winger who is currently the World Cup’s leading scorer with eight tries.

Rival clubs will no doubt be keeping tabs on how these talks develop preparing their own moves for the winger soon.
