Eddie and Stevo to return for special event

They were the iconic sporting commentator duo that worked together for over three decades, and, for one night only Eddie and Stevo will be back doing what they do best.

On Thursday 11 November, the duo will be heading to the Warrington Wolves for the ‘Eddie and Stevo – The Podcast Live’ special event.

Hemmings took part in his last commentary on Good Friday back in 2019 when St Helens romped home to a 36-10 victory over local rivals Wigan Warriors.

And, he could not have been prouder of what he achieved in the game: “Thirty years doing the same job, for the same television company, for the same sport – it’s almost a record.

“I thought: I’ve had the greatest time, I want to go out on a high, I want to go out and enjoy it, I want to go out with great memories.”

Mike ‘Stevo’ Stephenson, meanwhile, hung up his microphone back in October 2016.

“I have done my stint and I won’t miss television – it’s time for younger people to take over,” said Stevo.

“I will never miss rugby league because I will still watch it and go to games.

“I don’t want to be thought of as the guy who stayed too long – a lot of people probably think that anyway. It’s time for me to move on.

“Working alongside Eddie has been a absolute treat and I have enjoyed every single minute – even the arguments. I could not have done it without him.”
