Danny McGuire will NOT be moving to Leeds Rhinos.
That’s according to the man himself who stressed he is more than happy at Hull KR and that it is far too early for a head coaching role.
McGuire took on the assistant coach role at Craven Park ahead of the 2021 season after retiring from an illustrious playing career.
He had been asked about the Leeds job by Sky Sports pundit Jenna Brooks.
“I’m not ready for a head coaching role yet, I’e only been an assistant coach for 18 months since I’ve finished playing,” McGuire told Sky Sports.
“It’s way too early for me to think about being in charge of one of the biggest clubs in world rugby.”
McGuire professed his love for current club Hull KR.
“I’m really loving my time at Hull KR and I loved my time playing here.
“i played here for two seasons and obviously I’m assistant coach there – there are great people there and I’m loving going to work everyday.
“Everyone knows I will always have a soft spot for Leeds – I had such an amazing time there.
“I love Leeds Rhinos, I love Leeds United and anything associated with Leeds but it’s definitely too early for me.”
