Canterbury Bulldogs to make move for Super League duo?

Canterbury Bulldogs are lining up a double bid for St Helens stars Luke Thompson and Alex Walmsley, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Both players have previously been linked with moves down under after becoming Super League’s most dominant front row pairing in the last few years.

Canterbury chief executive Andrew Hill was reportedly spotted in Merseyside on Tuesday as the club aimed to begin negotiations, however it isn’t known how serious those talks were.

Luke Thompson is wanted by six NRL clubs.

Both players are under contract at Saints for at least the next 12 months, with Thompson out of contract at the end of next season and Walmsley’s deal running until 2022.

The Bulldogs are understood to be one of six clubs interested in Thompson, who is now regarded as the best prop in Super League.
