Broncos sign Boudebza till end of season

London Broncos have added French hooker John Boudebza to their squad ahead of the Super 8s Qualifiers.

Joining the capital club from Lezignan, former Hull KR man Boudebza, 27, will link up with fellow countryman William Barthau.

Boudebza played 27 times for the Robins over two seasons before leaving for Lezignan, who play in the Elite 1 division in France.

“The decision to move to London was an easy one to make,” Boudebza told the official London Broncos website.

“It was a great opportunity for me. London is a great club, with great players and staff.

“They want to be in Super League and I wanted to be a part of that challenge.

“The Championship is a tough competition but I think Hull KR and London are ready for the step up.”

London coach Andrew Henderson added: “John’s an established player and he’ll bring some value to the team – he’s a French international and he’s spent a couple of seasons in Super League recently so he knows that level of football,”

“He’s an exciting talent – he’ll give you some zip around the dummy half area, and he’s a threat in attack. Defensively, he can handle himself in the middle as well.

“He’s a welcome and quality addition and I think he’ll help take this group forward.”

Boudebza will fill the void left by injured duo James Cunningham and Barthau, who have both played a big part in the Broncos’ rise to Championship heavyweights over the last couple of years.
