Brad Dwyer completes Super League move after leaving Warrington Wolves

Leigh Leopards have confirmed the permanent signing of Brad Dwyer on a two-year contract after an impressive first five games for the club this season.

Leigh signed Dwyer on loan from Warrington Wolves at the start of the season, and his impressive form has earned him a permanent deal at the club.

His permanent signing makes him eligible to play in Saturday’s Challenge Cup quarter-final against Hull KR. The Leopards hope he continues this impressive run of form heading into the crucial game in Hull.

Leigh Leopards sign Brad Dwyer

When speaking to the official Leigh website, Dwyer revealed his excitement at joining the Leopards on a permanent deal after limited opportunities back at Warrington.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far. The boys have made me feel a part of it and I’ve loved coming into work every day.”

“Massive thanks to the club for the opportunity and for making me feel wanted. I’m looking forward to ripping in with the boys on Saturday.”

Dwyer was born in Wigan. He made his Super League debut for Warrington Wolves in 2012 and spent six years at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, scoring 16 tries in 88 games.

Notably, Dwyer’s career has been a journey through various clubs. He embarked on loan spells to Swinton Lions, Huddersfield Giants and London Broncos during his time at Warrington. This was followed by a significant move to Leeds Rhinos on a five-year deal.

After a decent spell with Leeds, Dwyer went on loan to Featherstone before moving to Hull FC for a season, and then returned to where it all started for Dwyer at Warrington Wolves.

Leigh originally signed him on loan as a backup in the absence of injured dummy-half Edwin Ipape, but he impressed so much that Adrian Lam and Derek Beaumont decided to sign the no.9 permanently.

Dwyer has impressed every club he’s played for and hopes to carry on this reputation at Leigh this season. He will look to turn their disappointing start to the season around with a big win against Hull KR in the Challenge Cup this weekend.
