Another fixture postponed due to COVID

The Betfred Championship fixture between Bradford Bulls and Sheffield Eagles which was scheduled for Sunday (August 8) has been postponed, at Sheffield’s request under the sport’s COVID-19 fixture protocols.

As for last weekend’s home fixture against York City Knights, Sheffield meet the threshold for postponement of at least seven senior players ruled out either as a result of positive COVID-19 tests or as close contacts.

The clubs will now liaise with the RFL in an attempt to find a date to rearrange the fixture, although part-time teams cannot be required to play in midweek.

The Betfred Championship table is to be determined on win points percentage.

Bradford currently sit in fifth in the Championship table, with nine wins from 14 games. Their postponed opponents Sheffield have won just four games all season.

Meanwhile, the Bulls have been hampered by the fact that instrumental halfback Joe Keyes has been recalled by Hull KR, with the Super League side experiencing an injury crisis.
