Another amazing tribute made to Rob Burrow

Rob Burrow is a Leeds Rhinos legend but is also a legend of a man as well as he battles Motor Neurone Disease.

Burrow spent 17 seasons playing with his one and only club the Rhinos where he won eight Grand Finals, a record for a one club man. He also won two Challenge Cup Finals, three World Club Challenges and three League Leaders’ Shields.

An England and Great Britain international, he was a two time Harry Sunderland Award winner and became the first man to win the award with 100% of the votes in 2011 after he scored and created arguably the two greatest Grand Final tries so no doubt a legend of the sport but he has been fighting MND since December 2019 and in that time he has raised funds and awareness for others.

During this period many great tributes have been made and now the Black Sheep Brewery have launched Burrow’s Blonde which is a light and zesty beer.

This comes after a very artistic tribute recently.

According to BBC, a public art trail of 85 bear sculptures has launched in Leeds.

When the trail ends, on 9th September some of the bears will be sold off to raise money for Leeds Children’s Hospital.

Among them is a a bear wearing a Leeds Rhinos shirt with Burrow seven on the back. The bear is also wearing a horn to look like a Rhino.

A lovely idea to pay tribute to a great Super League legend but also a man who has inspired so many with his fight against MND whilst giving hope to other MND sufferers as he has spearheaded so much fundraising including the Rob Burrow MND Centre.

For any Leeds fans or rugby league fans around West Yorkshire it certainly is worth going on the trail and saying hello to the Rhino bear.

There will be never enough tributes for Burrow who also has had two race horses named after him.

But if you fancy a beer, you can’t go wrong with Burrow’s Blonde which has now been launched.
