Keith Senior’s Super League Predictions: Round 18

Castleford Tigers vs Hull FC (Thursday 7.45pm)

Hull won the Challenge Cup game between these two earlier in the season but I have a feeling Cas will be eager for revenge here. Despite not being the force they have been in previous seasons, Daryl Powell’s side are still good on home soil so I’ll back them in this one.

Leeds Rhinos vs Wigan Warriors (Friday 7.45pm)

The Rhinos have hit a little bit of form, albeit only two wins in a row but it’s still the best form they have been in this season. Despite winning at Hull KR, Wigan are still very inconsistent and have a poor record at Headingley. Narrow home win for me.

St Helens vs Huddersfield Giants (Friday 7.45pm)

I didn’t predict Saints to lose at London, however I did say it wouldn’t be a straight forward two points and it certainly proved. The rested players come back this week to face a deflated Giants side beaten at the death by Cas. Normal service should be resumed for Holbrook’s men on Friday night.

Hull KR vs Warrington Wolves (Saturday 3pm)

These two played an epic cup tie just two weeks ago and under Tony Smith Rovers will fancy an upset victory here. However Warrington are still very impressive and with Blake Austin you always fancy them to score points. Wire to run away with this game in the final 20.

Catalans Dragons vs London Broncos (Saturday 5pm)

This could be the game of the round with Danny Ward’s Broncos in buoyant mood after their incredible win against Saints. Catalans have been very poor the last two weeks and they need the points here to stay in the play-off places. I think they will just do enough for the win.

Salford Red Devils vs Wakefield Trinity (Sunday 3pm)

Two sides in desperate need of a win here to keep their fading play-off hopes alive. Salford nearly produced a miracle comeback at Hull last week while Wakefield were nilled by Leeds. I really can’t split these sides so it’s golden point for me, with Danny Brough producing the goods.

Keith says: Wakefield in golden point
