9/2 Giants to cause a shock at Cas ?

Danny Brough banned

Be aware of team news when placing bets for the next few weeks , with the top 4 already decided most teams will either be rotating their squad for the semi finals or looking ahead to next year .
The only real issue to be decided is who will finish 2nd and get a home semi final between Castleford and Wigan .

Both clubs feature on sky this week and the Tigers kick off the rugby league weekend against Huddersfield on Thursday .
The Giants were the team to beat a few weeks ago , they won 8 of their last 10 in super league to escape the middle 8 , including a.win at Castleford , and then won the 1st 2 games of the Super 8 as they looked to make a surprise late bid to reach the top 4 . 2 subsequent defeats have put paid to that but even with nothing to play for I still think odds of around 9/2 are far too big for a side that only lost by 2 points at Warrington last week .

The Tigers have gone about their business quietly in the last few weeks , winning their last 3 , and whilst they should and probably will win this odds of 1/6 are way too short .
Huddersfield get a 14 point start on the handicap in what should be a high scoring game and I think they can stay inside that .

Cas need the win more and I think they may just get home by around 6-10 points ., I certainly think this game could go over the total points line .

Greg Eden is a very short price at 13/2 for the 1st try , but it is very hard to see past him . Joe Wardle could be a big price alternative at 18/1 .

Best to keep a close eye on team news before placing bets on Warrington’s visit to Wigan on Friday night rugby , with the Wolves rumoured to be resting players and the Warriors short on forwards .
Wigan lost both Flower and O’Loughlin last week during the win over Wakefield.

Both sides are on decent run in what has been a turgid Super 8 so far., Sky should just scrap coverage of this and televise all the games in the middle 8 , Wigan have won all of their Super 8 games whilst Warrington’s only defeat was at Castleford the week before the Cup Final .

Wigan won the regular season game at the DW between the 2 by a drop goal but I think they may win this one by a more comfortable margin . The Warriors have only been beaten at gone by Saints all season and with the Wolves safe in 4th have more at stake . Warrington look set to rotate their squad now as they prepare for a probable semi final at St Helens .

It’s around 5/2 for an away win , which would appeal if Warrington were at full strength , and 1/3 for a home win .
Wigan concede a 10 point start on the handicap and whilst games between these 2 tend to be low scoring and tight the Wire may just stay inside that in a home win by around 6-10 points .
I can’t stress enough the need to be wary of team news though , Warrington could field 4 or 5 reserves and the handicap line could double .

Punters looking for a better price for the home side can get around 8/11 on the Half Time Full Time .

Back next week as always please gamble responsibly.
