Star Toronto front row forward Fuifui Moimoi has been handed a 3 match ban from an RFL Disciplinary panel for the high tackle that saw him red carded in Toronto’s 1st ever competitive game 2 weeks ago .
Fuifui was sent from the field with 5 minutes to go in the Challenge Cup tie against National Conference Champions Siddal , which the Wolfpack won 14-6 .
It could have been worse though for the ex Parramatta and Kiwi International as he was initially charged with a Grade E offence for the high tackle , which has a ban of 5 to 8 games , but this was downgraded to a Grade D at today’s independant tribunal . A Grade D carries a ban of 3 to 5 games and Moimoi was given the lesser punishment by the panel .
Moimoi will miss league games against Whitehaven and Keighley plus more crucially the tie of the round clash against London Broncos in the Challenge Cup .
Moimoi , who joined from Leigh last November , scored a hat trick in a man of the match display against London Skolars as the Wolfpack opened up there League One campaign witha 76-0 victory .
Leigh forward Jamie Acton escaped a ban , meaning he can line up for the promoted Centurions against Huddersfield on Friday , as he was fined £300 for a Grade A dangerous contact on Wigan’s Joe Burgess last Friday .
