Leigh favourites to secure Super League safety

After 2 great play off semi finals to see who gets to fight it out at Old Trafford next week,  we get to the million pound game to see which players are potentially out of a job next week.

Leigh host Catalans in the Relegation shoot out after the French side declined to kick for goal against Widnes last week to secure the draw that would have given them home advantage today.

Greg Bird comes back into the Dragons squad after injury, with Mitch Brown and Higham back for the Centurions.

The bookies make Leigh around 4/7 favourites to win the game, whatever way you go you’d be better taking slightly less odds to win the toe in case of golden point,  and that for me is good value.
Leigh had an emphatic win in France during the middle 8, the Dragons did win though at LSV during the regular season.

This has been a very poor season for the usually very consistent French side, you’d want more than 6/4 for them to win here.
They haven’t won any of the games against Super League opposition in the middle 8 and in fact haven’t beaten a Super League side since they had a lucky win at home to Leigh way back in July.
Leigh should be full of confidence scoring 40 points in both of their last 2 games, albeit against Championship sides,  and should have too much for an average French side.

Catalans get around a 4 point start on the handicap but I think Leigh can win this by around 6-10 points. The Dragons struggled against Widnes last week and haven’t really had one impressive performance in this whole process. Leigh were unfortunate not to win at Warrington and looked a half decent side in France last month, a repeat of that will be too much for Catalans here.

James Clare heads 1st try betting at around 10/1, but I’d prefer Dawson at around 11/1.  As for the Dragons Iain Thornley at 14/1 would be my choice.

Should be a very tense affair tomorrow,  fans looking for a repeat of last year’s MPG can get around 20/1 that the game ends in a draw.

We’ll back with a full betting review for next week’s Grand Final, then onto the world cup as always please gamble responsibly.
