Penrith Panthers assistant coach Garth Brennan has been installed as an even money favourite to become the new Coach of the Warrington Wolves when Tony Smith calls it a day at the end of the season .
After a disastrous season Warrington finally secured their place in Super League for 2018 by winning their 1st 5 games in the middle 8 .
With safety assured Smith decided time was right to call it a day after a successful 9 years at the club where they have won 3 Challenge Cups and 2 League Leaders Shields .
Brennan has been a target for Super League clubs for a while now , and bookies Betfred think he could be the man .
He is currently the Panthers ISP Coach and has earned a place on the New Zealand coaching staff for the forthcoming World Cup .
He was 8/1 when prices were released earlier this week but his odds have now plummeted , 2nd favourites at 5/1 are early joint favourites Michael Mcguire (who is rumoured to prefer staying in Australia ) and Geoff Toovey , who have drifted from 3’s .
Jason Demetriou and David Furner are next at 6/1 with Dean Pay at 8/1 . Former player Andrew Johns is 10/1 with a 12/1 bar .
