Wigan forward faces three-match ban

Wigan Warriors prop foward Taulima Tautai is set to sit out his team’s next three matches after he was issued with a Grade C charge by the Match Review Panel.

Tautai was cited for ‘Other Contrary Behaviour’ in Friday’s match against Huddersfield when he appeared to kick out in the tackle on Huddersfield’s Ukuma Ta’ai.

Although he was sin-binned in the game for the incident, the Match Review Panel have decided to issue a further three-game ban which will be heard tomorrow evening.

Tautai is one of three Wigan players cited this week but Tony Clubb and Willie Isa both escaped suspension for Grade A Dangerous Contact charges.

Tony Clubb (Wigan) Grade A Dangerous Contact – 0 Match Penalty Notice

Willie Isa (Wigan) Grade A Dangerous Contact – 0 Match Penalty Notice

Taulima Tautai (Wigan) Grade C Other Contrary Behaviour – 3 Match Penalty Notice

The following players have been issued with cautions:

Kenny Edwards (Catalans) – Dangerous Contact

Ben Nakubuwai (Salford) – Dangerous Throw

Konrad Hurrell (Leeds) – Dangerous Contact
