Last night Leeds claimed a less than convincing win against Wakefield. They needed golden point to put Trinity away and claim only their second win of the season. It was a valiant effort from Wakefield but their first win of the year still alludes them. Well, that’s how I saw it. What was social media’s view?
Despite the win, Leeds fans weren’t happy. With the weight of possession they had near the Wakefield line, they believed they should’ve won by more.
Was was very very lucky last night didn’t play well. A good side would have put 40 points past us

Meanwhile, some fans couldn’t even describe how bad Leeds were at times.
I have no words for this….

One thing that did please Leeds supporters was the performances of their youngsters. In particular, Jarrod O’Connor and 17-year-old Morgan Gannon caught the eye.
Our youngsters are class

The emotional toll it took on Leeds fans was well documented and summed up in this video as Leeds clinched the win in golden point.

Speaking of golden point, plenty of fans voiced their view on it.
I hate golden point. And I’ll say that if we win or we lose. Even contest, well fought out, what’s wrong with a draw?

Not a loser at 80 min mark Phil, that’s when you award 1 point each. Then you give a bonus point for the team that is first to the golden point and don’t give anything extra to the other team….simples.

Wakefield fans were understandably gutted but hoped the return of fans might turn things around.
Been a brutal last two years to be a Wakefield fan. Hope being back in the stands makes it a bit better and it stays permanent.

It became clear that some Wakefield supporters are desperate to see their side win just one game.
When we eventually win a game, I’m going to celebrate like we’ve just won the league 😂 #wakefieldtrinity #rugbyleague #SuperLeague #wakefield

Others felt that this was a game they should’ve won and believed the penalty that gave Leeds the win wasn’t the correct call.
Just so unfair.
