Toronto will not be in Super League next season after clubs voted against reinstating them.
It leaves a number of the Wolfpack’s players in an uncertain situation having gone seven months without pay.
New owner Carlo LiVolsi had promised to pay all outstanding wages if the club were readmitted into Super League, but following their rejection that will now almost certainly not happen.
Unsurprisingly, many players from across Super League took to social media yesterday to voice their concern, disappointment and anger at the result of yesterday’s vote, including several current Toronto stars.
The fact us players and staff found out the decision via Twitter says everything.

No wonder the game here is 25 years behind the one on the other side of the world

The @TheRFL agreed the deal to let Argyle in. They need to stand up and be accountable, why let him in and who allowed this too happen? Right now we are sat in no mans land, with 0 money. This is bigger than rugby.

Regardless of the outcome. Them boys that were apart of the @TOwolfpack team deserve the 7 months pay they’re owed! @TheRFL

I wake up this morning gutted to hear what has happened to my club.
I once got sent a quote about RL in the UK: “Rugby League never misses an opportunity, to miss an opportunity”
I hope this isn’t the case, we need to keep forward thinking, whilst strengthening the grassroots👊🏼 pic.twitter.com/RjToX7q3Z1— Ashton Sims (@ashtonsims26) November 2, 2020
Thinking of everyone at @TOwolfpack today, the club & their thousands of fans have been on an incredible journey, 2020 has undoubtedly been tough especially for staff & players who've gone without paid but hopefully an agreement can be reached that enables everyone to go forward pic.twitter.com/bmuhfwQJoW
