“We can beat anyone” – Crooks confident Robins will finish in the top six

“We can beat anyone,” claimed Hull Kingston Rovers’ Ben Crooks ahead of their game with last year’s league leaders Wigan Warriors.

Hull KR recently bounced back to winning ways with a thrilling 34-28 win at Leigh.

After the result, Crooks admitted that the team are full of confidence and are capable of securing the two points in any match for the remainder of the 2021 season.

“We are confident on beating any side at any stadium,” Crooks said.

“That is the mind-set that we are in at the moment.

“The ability that we have in ourselves, the confidence as well. Any team, any place, we are confident we can go and get the two points.”

The win at Leigh also helped the Robins into fifth place, above their nearest and dearest Hull FC for the first time this season.

The Red and Whites look well on course to finish in the play-offs for the first time since 2014, however, they still have five matches to play to at least qualify for the series.

Having his say on his side’s chances of play-off rugby, Crooks shared, “We are not worried about anything below us. The only thing we are worried about is getting the 18 games played to qualify for the play-offs.

“We are confident we are going to be there. The one thing that we feel would stop us is out of our control the old COVID situation and having games cancelled.

“We cannot see that. We are pretty confident we will get the games in. Off the back of that, we are happy and confident we will be in those play-offs by the end of the year.”
