Championship hopefuls Bradford Bulls have confirmed that they’ve managed to secure a deal to loan in two bright young stars from Super League on two-week loan deals with a highly-touted Warrington Wolves youngster being one of the pair.

The Bulls have brought in Huddersfield Giants’ Connor Carr and Max Wood from Warrington Wolves with the pair set to join Eamon O’Carroll’s side on a temporary basis.

Carr, a centre, is just 20 and has previously shone for Oldham RLFC where he scored 14 tries in 31 games which helped him secure a two-year deal with Huddersfield Giants.

As for Max Wood, Warrington snapped him up when he was released by Wigan Warriors with the 19-year-old prop having already made an impact in pre-season when he scored twice on debut against rivals Widnes Vikings.

The two young Super League talents will add to O’Carroll’s Bradford Bulls side with the Bulls set to face two big Yorkshire rivals in Halifax and Featherstone across the next fortnight.

They’re aiming to bounce back from their opening night defeat to Championship favourites Wakefield Trinity.

“I’m confident they’ll add to our group” – Bulls hopeful of big boost from Warrington Wolves and Huddersfield Giants pair

The news of the loan deals for Carr and Wood was confirmed by Bradford Bulls on their social media and via a statement released on the club website.

It read: “Bradford Bulls are delighted to announce Connor Carr and Max Wood have joined the club on initial two-week loans from Huddersfield Giants and Warrington Wolves respectively.

“Carr, 20, can feature in the centres or on the wing and penned his first professional two-year contract with the Giants following an impressive year with Oldham, where he scored 14 tries in 31 appearances.

“Wood, 19, is a powerful front-row prospect who made his Super League debut under Sam Burgess against Hull FC in Round Two earlier this year. Wood scored twice on his first appearance for the Wolves in pre-season against Widnes Vikings.

“The duo come into contention for this Friday’s clash with Halifax Panthers, following recent injuries and suspensions.”

Bradford Bulls Head Coach Eamon O’Carroll, added: “Connor will give us some much-needed competition and depth in our outside backs. He works hard and gets through plenty of work, he’s eager to impress and has a great attitude.

Wood is someone we have been looking at for some time now. He will give us a point of difference and from the games I’ve seen he’s been very impressive. He carries the ball with intent and challenges oppositions defences while defensively he works hard and has good energy.

I’m really looking forward to working with these 2 players and I’m confident they will add to our group.”
