Warrington Wolves fullback Noah Booth has seemingly made the switch to Wakefield Trinity ahead of the 2024 season.
Booth signed for Warrington Wolves from Castleford Tigers youth set-up back in 2021. At Castleford’s Academy, he had the chance to play at Wembley Stadium in the 2017 Year Seven Champion Schools final. He scores a an amazing individual try here winning the game and the Man of the Match.
A Lock Lane junior, Booth is tall and powerful but also brilliantly quick. He can play on the wing and at fullback and even made a switch to halfback on his Wakefield Trinity debut on Saturday.
This was in Dale Morton’s Testimonial match as Wakefield pulled double duty against Wigan Warriors and Batley Bulldogs on the same weekend.
Booth was named at seven in the game away at Batley as Wakefield lost 44-16 to their Championship rivals.
It was a very young Wakefield side after the first team stars had impressed against Wigan Warriors leading 20-12 after 63 minutes when the match was abandoned after floodlight failure.
In this game at Batley, Morton enjoyed a special occasion scoring a try and even adding a conversion as well.
Warrington Wolves edge try fest
Warrington Wolves had their own friendly this weekend taking on local rivals Widnes Vikings on Friday night in Sam Burgess’ first game in charge since replacing Daryl Powell as their head coach.
A youthful Warrington edged Widnes Vikings in a fast-paced and entertaining pre-season derby at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Two first half tries from Tom Whitehead along with scores from Max Wood, Luke Thomas, Cai Taylor-Wray and Brad Dwyer put the Wire 34-16 in front at the break.
Wood’s second extended the lead before Kieran Dixon and Sam Wilde pulled tries back for the Vikings.
Taylor-Wray raced over for his second and despite late scores from Wilde and Matty Fozard it was the Wire who won the high-scoring contest.
The Wolves have some impressive youngsters even after the departure of Booth.
