Warrington Wolves 2024 squad numbers revealed as transfer question raised

Warrington Wolves have revealed their 2024 squad numbers as they begin their new era under Sam Burgess.

In a surprising move, Brad Dwyer has only been given the number 23 shirt ahead of his return to the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

It has been reported that Dwyer could leave the club and sign for Salford Red Devils with the club linked with a move for Wigan Warriors hooker Sam Powell whose future has yet to be confirmed but it seems he could be headed for Warrington according to Rugby League Live.

The number 23 shirt to Dwyer does little to end these rumours either way. On the one hand it shows that he has at least been given a squad number but one outside of the first 17 in a surprise for a hooker felt to be the back up for Danny Walker.

So this could point to plans to bring in Powell which raises questions about Brad Dwyer’s future.

If Powell was to sign, there are squad numbers available for him to take such as the number 32 shirt despite the fact the squad goes up to the number 36. Last year, Warrington confirmed signings like Matty Russell after their squad numbers were revealed taking on the number 34 shirt last year.

On his return to the club, Toby King has taken on the number three shirt with Stefan Ratchford keeping the number four shirt.

New signing Lachlan Fitzgibbon has taken the number 12 shirt with fellow new recruit Rodrick Tai taking on the number 14 shirt.
