Wakefield Trinity vs Leigh Leopards: Kick-off time, TV Channel and Team News

This weekend’s Super League action concludes in West Yorkshire.

It is a game many expected to be a relegation four pointer but seems far from it for one side.

That side is the visiting Leigh Leopards who have beaten Hull KR, Super League and World Champions St Helens and Hull FC to start the season and therefore have a six point advantage on their opponents Wakefield Trinity who sit bottom of the league.

Leigh will also be just two points shy of the play-offs with a win on Sunday.

They are taking on a Wakefield side who are still winless who suffered a closely fought defeat against Castleford Tigers last week in Rivals Round which left them cut adrift at the bottom.

Trinity need a win and back at home this perhaps is a good chance against a Leigh side who also lost last week despite a good performance.

Kick-off time and TV channel

The game kicks off at 15:00 at Belle Vue this afternoon.

There is no live coverage of the game but BBC will show highlights on the Super League Show.

Team News

In his bid to end Wakefield’s wait for a win, Mark Applegarth has named his squad for the game.

Huddersfield Giants loanee Nathan Mason drops out of the squad as does Jordy Crowther.

The big boost for Trinity is the return of two key forwards in the shape of former Hull FC prop Josh Bowden and reported Warrington Wolves target Kelepi Tanginoa.

Recently speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Applegarth pushed against these rumours describing Tanginoa as “one of the best players in Super League.”

As for Leigh the big news for them is the return of Gareth O’Brien to the squad. He could return to fullback with Zak Hardaker back in the centres.

Jack Hughes drops out after a calf injury.
