Wakefield Trinity provide another important stadium update

Wakefield Trinity have reached another significant milestone in their redevelopment of Belle Vue this afternoon with chairman John Minards taking the floor.

Minards posted this update today: “Keeping our followers right up to date, I am delighted to announce that the Planning Applications in respect of the Be Well Support Stadium and Plot 8 at Newmarket have not been called in by the Secretary of State.

“This is another important step on our redevelopment journey. We can now move to engross the S106 agreement after which our planning permission will be formally issued.

“Many thanks once again to all those who have helped through this phase – we remain firmly on track!”

It follows the news that Trinity, alongside Featherstone Rovers and Castleford Tigers, were given a £2 million grant by Wakefield Council in a bid to rejuvenate the area.

Fantastic if not belated news coming from ‘Belle Vue’
Great work and patience being shown by the Management team of Wakefield Trinity.
I for one will look forward to the rejuvenation of the stadium.
Onwards and upwards, hopefully increased revenue and footfall, bringing with it better fortunes on and off the field.
