Wakefield Trinity include a number of Super League stars in reserves clash against Warrington Wolves as both sides give selection hints for Super League action

Last night Warrington and Wakefield tussled in a compelling reserves game in a match which gave some interesting hints about selection going into their Super League clashes this weekend.

Both teams named one player from their 21-one man squad to play in the game despite the fact they both face trips to France with Warrington set to face Catalans today whilst Wakefield battle Toulouse tomorrow.

Nonetheless, Warrington included the superb Matt Davis in their starting 13 for this game whilst Yusuf Aydin figured at prop for Wakefield despite the fact both were included in their team’s 21-man squad for this weekend’s Super League action.

Asides from Davis, Warrington had little Super League experience in their side.

As for Wakefield, Thomas Minns starred at fullback even crossing for a try whilst regular first team front row Eddie Battye played. There was also a return to action for former Warrington winger Tom Lineham as he looks to get back to full fitness after an injury hit start to life at Wakefield.

Unsurprisingly with all that Super League talent in their side, Wakefield were the victors winning 26-10 despite trailing 10-0 early on in the game.
