In England’s win over France there were a number of standout players.
Ash Handley scored a superb hat-trick as well as notching a hat-trick of assists for skipper George Williams.
He was sensational scoring a hat-trick and notching a huge four assists.
Others like Harry Smith, Jake Wardle and others had some lovely individual moments as did Jack Welsby.
Speaking after the game, former England coach and current Hull FC boss Tony Smith picked out his standout performers describing two players as “just class.”
“There’s a few. Obviously Ash Handley had a great game. Aside from just scoring tries, and some were very skilful tries, I thought Ash and Harry were terrific,” he said on Sky Sports.
“Jack Welsby was very very close to Man of the Match because he is just class. George Williams though was just class, just class.
“He had to get the Man of the Match giving it to anyone else would have just been a token gesture.
“I wanted to give it to a young and upcoming player but Williams was just class.”
It will be interesting to see how many of the players who featured against France will make the end of season cut for the Tonga test.
Either way the player pool is seemingly growing which can only be a good thing.
