‘The conditions tonight are quite horrific and we will need to adjust our game’ – Leigh Centurions boss Adrian Lam identifies poor conditions ahead of Featherstone clash

Leigh Centurions head coach Adrian Lam made the move from Wigan Warriors in the off-season after three years at the DW Stadium.

And, Lam and Leigh are one of the favourites to win promotion from the Championship alongside Featherstone, but the former PNG halfback isn’t feeling the pressure, with Chris Chester’s role as director of rugby easing that.

He spoke to Premier Sports before the fixture against Featherstone Rovers, stating: “I don’t feel that sort of pressure.

“Derek (owner Derek Beaumont) has been great with me and the other great part of this team is Chris Chester.

“The relationship I’ve had with Chris as a player and now working closely with him has been outstanding.”

Lam also revealed just how much he is loving being at Leigh so far, though he did bemoan the conditions at the Millennium Stadium.

“I’ve loved every minute of it, it’s been a bit of change up with staff and players but I’ve been enjoying it.

“They’ve trained pretty well, but conditions tonight are quite horrific and we will need to adjust our game.”
