Super League side can only name 19-man squad with four key players missing

Salford Red Devils are sitting just outside the playoff positions at the moment with Paul Rowley’s men just ahead of Leeds Rhinos, but short of sixth placed Hull KR on points difference.

A win at the weekend could well put the Red Devils back into the playoff picture but in their way stand Catalans Dragons, with an away trip to Perpignan on the cards for Salford this afternoon ahead of Saturday evening’s game.

The Dragons have been the standout side in the competition and deservedly top the table and six wins in their last seven is testament to that, highlighting the task Salford face.

To make matters worse for Salford they’ve just lost one of their key players with Tyler Dupree heading to Wigan Warriors with immediate effect.

That’s a deal that saw Brad Singleton and an undisclosed figure head to the AJ Bell but whilst Dupree is set to debut for Wigan this weekend, the same can’t be said for Singleton who has not been named in what is just a 19-man squad.

Both Tim Lafai and Kallum Watkins miss out, as does Marc Sneyd for the Red Devils who will be up against it on Saturday evening.

As for Catalans they’ve named an unchanged side from their win over St Helens which should stand them in good stead.

Arthur Mourgue is still a significant miss but with Sam Tomkins and Tanguy Zenon available to play full-back it’s a very strong side for the French side.
