Super League Referee Appointments: Jack Smith takes on standout game

The Match Officials for each Super League clash in Round Two have mow been confirmed with the all-important video referee assignments also confirmed.

Thursday night’s clash between Hull KR and Leeds Rhinos will be officiated by Jack Smith with the Robins playing a Super League game at Craven Park for the first time since their play-off win over Leigh Leopards in 2023.

Ben Thaler will be the video referee for that one but doesn’t have a Super League game of his own to officiate with Friday’s games being refereed by Tom Grant and Marcus Griffiths.

Grant is the referee for the London Broncos and Catalans Dragons game with Liam Moore in the video referee role, whereas Griffiths is supported by Chris Kendall appointed as video ref.

Saturday’s game between Huddersfield and Sr Helens has seen Aaron Moore appointed with Marcus Griffiths in support as the video referee.

The final game on Sunday between Salford Red Devils and Castleford Tigers features Australian James Vella as the referee, supported by Jack Smith as video ref.

Meanwhile Liam Moore was appointed as the referee for the World Club Challenge game between Wigan Warriors and Pnerith Panthers, Chris Kendall taking on the job of video referee.
