Super League Referee Appointments: Chris Kendall given week off

The officiating teams for Round Nine of Super League have been confirmed.

Chris Kendall has the week off, with the RFL confirming that the referee himself asked to be granted the time away. It’s meant a bit of reshuffling for the RFL Referee’s team ahead of this upcoming round of fixtures.

Kicking things off for the week are two of the league’s most in-form sides, as St Helens host a Huddersfield Giants side that have been charging up the table.

St Helens beat Hull FC 58-0 at the weekend, while the Giants are coming off the back of an impressive 30-24 victory over Leeds Rhinos.

Liam Moore will referee, while Ben Thaler supports as video referee.

On Friday, we have a double-header of fixtures, and Castleford Tigers host bottom-side London Broncos.

Both sides should see this as a possibility of a win, as they’ve only won one win between them both this season.

For this one, Jack Smith is the man in the centre, with Marcus Griffiths as video referee.

Over in Leigh, the Leopards host Catalans Dragons following their close defeat to Warrington Wolves.

Aaron Moore will referee, and James Vella is video referee.

The other Friday evening fixture sees Hull KR host Wigan Warriors, after the Robins were humiliated by Catalans at the weekend.

Tom Grant will take centre stage there, while Liam Moore is video referee.

Salford Red Devils, after confirmation that Paul Rowley will remain at the club, host Warrington Wolves.

James Vella referees there, with Tom Grant becoming video referee.

Finally, on Sunday, Hull FC, bolstered with new signings, take on Leeds Rhinos.

Liam Rush will referee, and the video referee will be Jack Smith.
