Super League Player of the Month revealed

The Super League Player of the Month for March has been announced.

After four exciting rounds of action, the number one player from those games has been decided.

The nominees were six players from six different sides:

Leeds Rhinos player Lachlan Miller was included, with his excellent month being rounded off with two tries against Castleford Tigers in Rivals Round, helping his side to a 26-6 victory.

At the other end of the field, his defensive exploits, such as an excellent tackle on Matty Lees, were also praised, and were key to the Rhinos winning three out of four league games in March.

Another new signing, Niall Evalds at Hull KR, was also a nominee. A fullback at Castleford, he was playing on the wing for the Robins and has been impressive from out wide, however, he made the move back to fullback for the second half of their loss to Warrington Wolves, a position he has since retained and shone in.

Catalans Dragons winger Tom Davies scored three in the last three games of March, and was excellent in the Dragons’ near-perfect March.

He has been linked with a move elsewhere in Super League, and it’s easy to see why there would be plenty of interest in him.

Salford creative outlet Marc Sneyd had an unbelievable month, picking up 37 points across the four games, and being star of the show on more than one occasion.

In a game that saw two tries each, his boot was crucial in a 17-10 defeat of Hull KR, and this was the case again as his perfect record from the kicking tee got them over the line in a 24-20 win over St Helens.

Warrington Wolves full-back Matt Dufty scored a late game-winner in a thriller against Hull KR.

His spectacular hat-trick against London Broncos furthered his try-scoring exploits, and he shone even in defeat to Catalans.

St Helens star Lewis Dodd‘s quality at both ends earned him a nomination, too, with terrific kicking, try-scoring and tackle-making.

He scored twice in Saints’ loss to Salford, a game in which he added a conversion, and he made an excellent try-saving tackle on Harry Newman to help them to victory over Leeds Rhinos.

An excellent kick allowed Tommy Makinson to score in derby-day delight against Wigan Warriors to round off the month.
