Disciplinary

The Road to Wembley and Challenge Cup glory in 2024 has heated up now that Super League sides have entered and in some cases been dumped out of the cup. But this week we turn back our attention to the Betfred Super League which makes Super League disciplinary a talking point once again.

In a round like Rivals Round over Easter, having all your star players is vitally important and this will be vital on Thursday night for both Castleford Tigers and Leeds Rhinos as the two meet at the Jungle to start the round.

It was the first meeting between the two over Easter since 2016 and Castleford are looking to repeat their dramatic win over the Rhinos last season which got their first win over the season which is again their aim.

The Rhinos will have been hoping from a Super League disciplinary perspective would have been concerned about Tom Holroyd after his yellow card.

From the same game, St Helens would have also been worrying over Daryl Clark after his yellow card as they prepare for a huge fixture against the Wigan Warriors.

This is one of the staples of Good Friday alongside the Hull derby which will see Hull FC take on Hull KR after their rough start. The Black and Whites have been hit the hardest this year by Super League disciplinary.

Over the rest of the weekend, Warrington Wolves take on Catalans Dragons, Leigh Leopards and Salford Red Devils meet and Huddersfield Giants take on London Broncos but which clubs face Super League disciplinary worries after this Challenge Cup clash.

In terms of Super League disciplinary worries, there are a few especially from the Leeds Rhinos and St Helens clash.

There was a fight which came from a Jack Welsby challenge which Tom Holroyd took exception to. Then Daryl Clark got involved in the incident and both could fear bans after yellow cards.

There were also suspicions about a tip tackle from Andy Ackers and a swinging arm from Curtis Sironen.

There were also yellow cards for Alex Mellor and Ligi Sao for late hits in their games which could result in disciplinary action.
