Super League club set to erect temporary stands for rest of season

Super League club Catalans Dragons have been forced to put up two temporary stands ahead of their next home fixture in the Betfred Super League.

This week, as part of Super League Rivals Round, Catalans Dragons will face Sam Burgess’ Warrington Wolves for the second time this season.

They last met in Round One when a 12-man Catalans side found a way to pick up the win against the Warrington Wolves.

However, since then the Wolves have been unbeaten beating Hull FC, Castleford Tigers, Hull KR and London Broncos. They defeated the Broncos twice in a row once in the Challenge Cup.

This means both sides find themselves joint top of the league with four wins from five alongside Wigan Warriors and St Helens after Catalans lost to Leeds Rhinos in Round Three.

Thus, the meeting between the Wolves and Dragons is a big game but so is the meeting that follows as Catalans host St Helens and this game is set to draw such a big crowd the club will erect two temporary stands.

Super League club set to put up temporary stadium

Super League club Catalans Dragons confirmed they would be putting up two temporary stands for the game against St Helens on Saturday April 6th.

These stands will remain beyond this game and until the end of the season: “The club, which is preparing for large crowds from the next match on April 6 with the reception of St Helens, has decided to install two temporary stands. They will be operational until the end of the season. Both stands are already full for the match against St Helens.”

This is likely because of the work the club is set to do on the stadium to redevelop the ground.

They are set spend ÂŁ12 million on the stadium redevelopment which is the amount Castleford Tigers are set to spend on their own stadium redevelopment plans.

It is a great time for Super League with work being done on so many stadiums set for redevelopment after Wakefield Trinity have already done some terrific work to their stadium with more set to come moving.
